How does the 50/50 Raffle work?

The LAF online 50/50 raffle allows eligible individuals to purchase ticket(s) for the opportunity to win 50% of the total money raised through the sale of 50/50 tickets for that draw.

How much does a ticket cost?

Tickets can be purchased in value-added bundles:

      $10 for 10 numbers

      $20 for 25 numbers

      $50 for 100 numbers

      $100 for 300 numbers

I cannot access LAF5050.ca What should I do?

The online 50/50 Raffle does not support Internet Explorer.  Please use Safari, Chrome, or Firefox to open the link.

 

https://LAF5050.ca is a direct link that can be copied and pasted into Safari, Chrome, or Firefox. The online raffle form is also completely mobile-friendly.  Try using the raffle link on a mobile device, this may fix any technical difficulties.

Where does the other 50% of the proceeds raised go?

The other 50% of the proceeds raised supports programming and other capital costs.

Who is eligible to buy 50/50 draw tickets?

You must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of Ontario.

Where can I purchase tickets for the LAF 50/50 raffle?

Online only at LAF5050.ca.

Can I play more than once in a draw?

Yes. You can purchase more than one ticket per draw.

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold during an event.

What is the total jackpot in the 50/50 Lottery?

The 50/50 Lottery comprises one (1) prize and is an accumulating jackpot. The winner will be awarded half of the total 50/50 Lottery jackpot.

How is the winning number drawn?

A unique winning number is randomly generated and issued by the electronic 50/50 system out of the numbers purchased (retail sales and online) for that particular draw. The mechanism for selecting the winning number is a computer-based random number generator supplied by a third-party vendor, “Bump 50:50” which has been certified by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.


When is the winning number draw?

Sales close at 11:59 p.m. on March 1, 2021 with the winner drawn March 2, 2021 at 10:00 am.

Where is the winning number posted?

The number will be announced via e-mail and online.

If I have the winning 50/50 number, how do I claim my prize?

The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw. If you have the winning 50/50 number, please contact Life After Fifty by email or call 519-254-5577 ext. 52656. You must complete the required winner claimant documents in person at Life After Fifty (635 McEwan Ave. Windsor, ON N9B 2E9). Winners must have the original winning ticket and not a copy.

 

Please note: Online ticket sales must be claimed by the individual(s) named in the original purchase transaction. Centre for Seniors Windsor (o/a Life After Fifty) is not responsible for any division of the winning prize amount to any other party other than the individual(s) named in the original purchase transaction.

What currency is the prize money paid in?

All transactions and winnings are paid in Canadian Dollars. Prizes will be paid by cheque payable to the winner.

If I win, can I play again?

Absolutely! If you are a previous 50/50 winner, you remain eligible to win future 50/50 draws if you continue to meet all the terms of eligibility.

Do I need to live in Ontario to play?

You do not need to live in the province of Ontario to purchase a 50/50 ticket but you do need to be physically located within the province of Ontario at the time of purchase of your online 50/50 ticket to be eligible to play.

How can I pay for my online 50/50 ticket?

Our online 50/50 website accepts the following payment types: Visa and MasterCard.

I purchased a 50/50 raffle ticket online but I did not get my numbers. What should I do?

If you purchased your 50/50 ticket but did not receive your numbers, please check your junk or spam folders in the event it was flagged by your email provider. If you still do not have your 50/50 ticket, please contact Veronica Samek at vsamek@lifeafterfifty.ca or call 519-254-1108 ext 124.

What is your refund or return policy?

All 50/50 raffle ticket sales are final and may not be exchanged or refunded.

Will a charitable tax receipt be issued for my purchased ticket?

No. According to Canada Revenue Agency regulations, charity lottery ticket purchases are considered entertainment, not a direct donation. Therefore, we are unable to issue a tax receipt for 50/50 Draw ticket purchases.

I think I, or someone I know, may have a problem with gambling. What should I do?
